Gratitude is a word so often used these days, especially around this time of year. As we look forward to the Thanksgiving holiday, I’d like to share some of what I’m grateful for.
I am grateful for 8 years of At the Podium. I started down this road in 2014, and I remember wondering when that moment would come… the one when I would feel comfortable stepping into my own public speaking expertise. Looking back, it didn’t happen in just one moment, because when you’re in the throes of growing a business, you don’t always realize all of the experience you’re gaining along the way. Instead, it arrives and takes hold in stages. Most of the time it isn’t until we stop for a moment and use a bit of “out of body” thinking that we realize how much we’ve truly grown. So, I am grateful for all that ATP has taught and brought me, my expertise, experience, and confidence.
What about you?
What are you grateful for within your business?
I am grateful for all of the vendors, partners, and event planners I’ve worked with. It’s very easy to think that as small business owners and entrepreneurs, we’re on our own, but we’re far from that. At the Podium has connected me with so many people I’ve had the pleasure of advising, working with, working for, making referrals to, or just plain enjoying the company of. I say it over and over again: You never know what will be ahead when you meet someone. And it might not happen at that very moment. I’ve had people reach out to me after a few months and even years… and vice versa.
What about you?
Who are you still in touch with after having met them?
Whose acquaintance would you like to renew?
Who might need to be reminded that you’re there for them?
And I am grateful for you, whether you’re a reader, client, or fellow entrepreneur/expert. It’s a fact that I wouldn’t be here without you and your support. Every thought and comment you share about this newsletter motivates me to keep moving forward. These last four years, every single monthly Saturday Morning Speaker Mastermind has revved up my speaker engines and inspired me to make the next month’s meeting better, while still maintaining an agenda people enjoy and come back for. I do these things because when you share your thoughts, perspectives, and expertise with me, it feels like a gift. I always learn something, and gratefully pay what I’ve learned forward when I can.
What about you?
Do you pay your gratitude forward by sharing your
expertise with your peeps on a regular basis?
Do your peeps know how grateful you are for them?
Traditionally, family is the first gratitude stop we make over Thanksgiving. But there is so much more to be grateful for! For me, the next stop is each and every one of you! And now that you’ve read this article, my hope is that you’ll be in the perfect mindset to take a few minutes to think up a way to let your peeps know how much they matter to you.
‘Til we speak again….
