“There are always three speeches for every one you gave, the one you practiced, the one you actually gave and the one you wish you gave.”
~Dale Carnegie
Like many businesses, At the Podium (ATP) has evolved. When it was first established, the goal was to help business professionals find speaking opportunities. This is the reason why there is a speaker directory on this website—so speakers have a digital presence and platform for marketing themselves as speakers.
Many entrepreneurs and professionals were quick to respond to what ATP was offering because the benefits of public speaking were clear to them too. But I learned that as much as the entrepreneurs and professionals I was connecting with wanted to speak, they:
- Struggled to figure out what they should talk about
- Didn’t have a clear picture of their ideal audience
- Didn’t have the materials they needed to market themselves
- Hadn’t created a signature talk/presentation to start building their speaking reputation with
As it is with so many things in life, preparation is a big part of how long it’s going to take someone to reach their goal. Speaking can be tremendously purposeful, powerful, and fulfilling, but it can also be daunting and demanding.
So, At the Podium’s mission evolved to preparing entrepreneurs and professionals to put their best “speaking” foot forward while also saving them the time and frustration of trying to figure out how to become a public speaker on their own. The great side benefit of this is avoiding those steps and mistakes many new, and seasoned, speakers often make.
Working together with a common goal is simply a more time-efficient way of preparing a speaker to confidently share their expertise from a stage and step into their roles as subject-matter experts and leaders in their topic.
And, because clarity plays a big role in the work ATP does, here’s some clarification about what ATP is not:
- National Speakers Association (NSA)
- Toastmasters
- A speaker agency or agent
- Speech writers
- Sales-pitch creators
ATP’s services are likely to help you achieve your public speaking goals if you are an:
- Entrepreneur
- Solo-preneur
- Business professional
- Side Hustler
- Subject-matter expert
- Problem-solving expert
As the founder of ATP, I believe that every speaker should have the opportunity to be heard. When a speaker shares their information, knowledge, expertise, etc., with the world, we all benefit.
Everything offered on this website was designed to provide people ready to take advantage of all that public speaking has to offer with everything they need to turn their public speaking vision into a reality.
Let me, and At the Podium, help you prepare and deliver the speech you were meant to give!
