Description of Organization's purpose: For over 30 years Ridgefield Continuing Education has provided courses that contribute to people’s employment, wellness, practical skills, and enrichment. Our programs are funded solely by course tuition. We provides over 100 courses, each semester, that have helped many people achieve success, whether it be employment or language skills, healthy cooking, fitness, Zen Flexibility, Meso American archaeology, arts and crafts, gardening, guitar, computers, photography, real estate, house and garden, fitness, wellness, art, knitting, history, and many more topics. Please give some thought to setting aside time each week to explore something you are curious about. Connect with other people as you receive an in-person educational experience as you focus on self improvement and then share your viewpoints with others at a coffee shop or restaurant before or after class.
Description of your audience: Depending upon your subject matter, your audience will be comprised of anyone over 18 living in the greater Ridgefield community interested in learning about your topic. Excellent idea to promote your class via your social media.
Appx number of Attendees expected: Min: 4-6; Max: 25-30
Meeting date(s) and time(s): Classes are taught Monday thru Thurs evenings between the hours of 5:30-9pm. Director of Adult Ed will work with you to find the best time for your class. Your session can be a single evening or span multiple weeks.
Length of presentation: Classes are generally either 1.5 hrs or 2 hrs in length.
Technology available: Internet is generally unavailable. Do not plan on using it. , You may bring your computer to connect to share a powerpoint presentation. PC's preferred, TV/monitor screen, , ,
Type of speaker you are looking for: This is your class time...you can share your topic in any manner you feel appropriate.
Topics of interest to your audience: Topics that have been offered have ranged from employment or language skills, healthy cooking, fitness, Zen Flexibility, Meso American archaeology, arts and crafts, gardening, guitar, computers, photography, real estate, house and garden, fitness, wellness, art, knitting, history, and many more topic. We welcome all new ideas!
How are speakers compensated? Instructors compensated on an hourly rate. Details available from Director of Adult Ed.,
Yes, Speakers are permitted to: Bring a photographer or videographer to the event included, Set up a back of the room sales table, Share marketing material such as handouts/brochures etc, Receive list of event attendee information and/or email list, Share a special offer with your audience, Send out press releases announcing that they will be speaking to your audience,
